PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

This exciting development course is designed to train students in the safe use and technology of Rebreather diving with no decompression, to a maximum depth of 30 metres/99 feet

This programme is broken into two sections:

FIRST SECTION - THEORY

This theory or academic section, which any person may take and complete, followed, without obligation, the Second Section which is the practical session where you can learn with an Instructor the underwater skills necessary for this level of training and complete your certification.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

With your RAID Instructor

Confined water - minimum 1 hour underwater training + Speciality requirements
Open Water - minimum 5 hours underwater and 6 Dives + Speciality requirements

If the Diver already has completed a Speciality for the Rebreather they are using, then the added time for the Speciality is not required/included.

CERTIFICATION

Upon successfully passing the practical training you receive:

International Diver Certification
On-line logbook
Diver certification E or C-card
Unrestricted access to manuals

We must point out that the practical training cost (Second Section) is not included in the online fee. This cost must be discussed between yourself and the appointed RAID dive centre / Instructor who will complete the practical training.

PREREQUISITES for the Practical Training

Subject to the General Diving Standards, this may change without notice:

To be a minimum of 18 years old.
Have a minimum of 8 hours logged under water time (confined and openwater) on a rebreather or open circuit.
Have a RAID Level 1 & Speciality or Open Water Diver equivalent certification from a recognised training agency.
Documented proof of prerequisite requirements needs to be presented to the appointed Dive Centre for approval prior to any in water training.
To start and qualify as a RAID rebreather diver you need to have completed both the core rebreather level and a unit specific Speciality course.
The unit speciality course for each rebreather only needs to be completed once.
