Their small size combined with very high quality and low cost make these cameras very desirable. They are easy to use even for the most non-technical people, but they have more depth to them that one might first imagine.

In this course you will see and learn how versatile these cameras can actually be. We will be concentrating mostly on the video aspect of these cameras but could not possibly ignore the photo capabilities as well.

A great advantage of small action cameras over their larger cousins is the ability to get into tight places for those unique and imaginative shots that would otherwise be impossible.

There are many makes of action camera on the market and this course does not make comparisons or recommendation. This can be left to the discretion of your instructor and to your own web research.

We will touch briefly on editing and presentation but most of all, at this stage, we want you to feel confident with your camera and see how easy it is to take great images. We intentionally will not get over-technical but aim to get you taking good video with very simple settings.

Editing is the other half of videoing. Great video clips can be ruined or wasted with bad editing or not so good video clips can be made to look good with creative editing. As previously mentioned, we will go through some basics of editing just to get you started but we advise you to consider a separate editing course or instruction to develop greater skills.

This Action Camera Course is divided into a theory section with following multiple-choice answer exam then practical sessions with confined and open water dives. It is fun and informative and is a great way to learn how to use your camera.

Boat Diver

Even if you have dived from a boat, you may not be familiar with all of the different types of boats, their respective configurations and operating protocols you will come into contact with during your diving lifestyle. The RAID Boat Specialty was designed to introduce divers to proper terminology, safety equipment and techniques needed to plan and execute dives responsibly.

Compressor Operator

The Compressor Operator specialty course is designed to teach the understanding and working knowledge about high pressure compressor units as well as how to use the unit for filling air tanks (compressed air for breathing) in the high pressure ranges PN 200 and PN 300 Bar.

COMPRESSOR OPERATOR

Any person 16years or older may take this course.

This course is a general programme for all high pressure (PN200/300 Bar) compressors and is used together with the manufacturers instruction/users manual.

The course requires a practical internship of a minimum of 9 (compressor) hours operation under the supervision of an experienced and certified compressor operator filling AIR cylinders/pressure vessels.

Nitrox Diver

Training skills to analyse nitrox mixes, plan nitrox dives and the procedures for performing nitrox dives. Up to a maximum 40% Oxygen content and a PO2 of 1.4 atm.

The RAID Nitrox Specialty develops the skills and knowledge to safely plan and execute Nitrox dives with a breathing gas oxygen concentration of up to 40% and a PPO2 of no greater than 1.4ATM with a recreational maximum of 1.6ATM.

Try Freediving

Oxygen Administrator

This course is an introduction to Freediving where you will learn about the history of the sport, the disciplines involved, how to breathe correctly for freediving and how to hold your breath. Written for digital cameras and thus discussions on film cameras and the pro's and con's of both have been omitted.

Ragged Tooth Sand Tiger Shark Diver
